Portal 2 Level Design Project

Featured in this video is the 'Tutorial difficulty' level I was tasked with making. I kept it simple and tried to show the players the things they would encounter in the future levels. 

Featured in this video is the 'Intermediate Difficulty' level I was tasked with making. I tried to use game mechanics that were shown off in the tutorial to reinforce those skills for the player. The level was kept small so almost everything was in view for the player from the get-go and wouldn't get lost, the larger level was left for the challenging difficulty.

Featured in this video is the 'Challenging Difficulty' level I was tasked with making. I tried to use game mechanics that were shown off in the tutorial and intermediate levels, but in new challenging ways to make the player think.  I also added new mechanics to make the player feel like there is something that they will have to learn to move forward, to again challenge the player. The level was expanded in size so there was more space for puzzles and to have the player solve multiple tasks to progress.

Featured in this video is the 'Challenging Difficulty' level, but with new changes. After performing play tests, I received feedback and was able to make changes. In the video I highlight some problem areas. There were areas that were cluttered or seemed like they were not the intended way to complete the puzzles. I changed things to create breadcrumbs for the player to know where to go better as some of the points of interest were not very obvious to anyone outside of the designer.
